About "Osaka, the Museum" Concept

From Toru Hashimoto, Director of "Osaka, the Museum"

At "Osaka, The Museum", our main exhibits, consist of what has become part of our daily life here in Osaka. They include architecture, historic streetscapes, and shopping districts. The museum's events include a variety of seasonal festivals that you are already familiar with.

Have you looked around other parts of Osaka recently?
How well do you think you know Osaka?

"Osaka, The Museum" is designed to introduce interesting, valuable and attractive features of Osaka which might not have been brought to your attention yet.

As a director of "Osaka, The Museum", I often walk through the museum, and how many new and interesting things I discover every time I visit, never ceases to amaze me.

I would like to encourage all of you to take an opportunity to walk around the entire museum that is the prefecture of Osaka, and find and rediscover its wonderful facets and exhibitions."Osaka, The Museum" also welcomes any suggestions from guests and citizens of Osaka for possible additions to our exhibits. If there is something near you that you think is appealing and worth attention, please don't hesitate to inform us! We are not expecting anything avant-garde and innovative; we would like to expand and enhance our exhibitions using resources we already have, but that haven't been brought to visitors' attention.

"Osaka, The Museum" also provides a place where citizens of Osaka like you can come together to exchange information and opinions. We would like to hear and reflect on others' ideas for the institution of future exhibits at our museum.

Again, "Osaka, The Museum" features numerous exhibitions, some of which may not have been obvious in your everyday life in Osaka. Please take an opportunity to enjoy discovering new faces of Osaka that you may not have noticed before.

"Osaka, The Museum" can be successful only with the participation and cooperation with Osaka citizens. Please let us hear your voice and give us your recommendations and suggestions to improve our museum. As director, I will listen to every suggestion from our citizens and will work towards creating new exhibitions.

"Osaka, The Museum" Fund is also welcoming any donations from you. The more we receive your support, the better chance we have in achieving our goal to transform Osaka into a nationally and globally acclaimed museum with assets worth displaying and beholding. Your donation of any amount will be appreciated and respected.

Thank you,

Toru Hashimoto, Director of Osaka, the Museum
